A Beading Playground is an afternoon jewelry-making and craft class at The Center for Early Education's Camp Adventure in West Hollywood, rooted in the rich beading traditions of Ghanaian art. Campers learn multiple jewelry-making techniques across the week, crafting polymer clay beads, painting and decorating wooden beads, and stringing stretchy bracelets and other wearable pieces. The curriculum connects hands-on making with cultural storytelling, giving kids context for the art forms they're practicing. Projects are small enough to finish and take home, giving children a satisfying sense of accomplishment each session.
